We are excited to introduce our new blog series, MeDusa in the US, where we interview the fun and fabulous entrepreneurs who carry our bags in cities across the United States! Our first stop on the journey is with Melanie Baker-Telford, owner of Beautiful Boutique on Brilliant in the up-and-coming city of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pittsburgh suffered a major population loss in the 1980’s when steel mills were shut down across the state. What once was known as the smokey city, has since been rated in several publications such as Forbes, The Economist, and the Huffington Post, as one of the most liveable cities in the country.
Young people are flocking to the city of bridges, for its affordable rent, breathtaking river views and historical hipster edge. If you find yourself visiting the city this year, I recommend you check out the neighborhood of Lawrenceville for some cocktails at Tender or meander through the Strip District to pick up italian specialties at the famed Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. Most of all, stop in to say hi to shopkeeper Melanie, in Aspinwall to see our MeDusa bags in person.
Melanie has curated a swanky lifestyle boutique. It’s design forward and contemporary feel is complemented with good ‘ole down-to-earth Pittsburgh charm.
